This sermon draws us from Psalm 96 to Luke 2, celebrating the first coming of Jesus and calling us to live in readiness for his return.
At Christmas, Christ’s birth brought fear and great joy, worship and praise, and a world-changing peace made possible between God and humanity. From shepherds to kings, heaven and earth responded to the arrival of the Savior. Jesus’ first coming continues to change lives today—bringing new life, hope, and purpose.
But the good news doesn’t stop there. Just as Jesus came once, he has promised to come again. His return will bring final justice, resurrection, and the renewal of all things. Until that day, we are called to worship the Lord, humble ourselves, trust in Christ alone, and live lives that honor him.
“Sing to the Lord… declare his glory among the nations!” (Psalm 96)
Come, Lord Jesus. Let us be ready.
